These Terms of Use govern your access to helibuddy.com and, once released, the HeliBuddy mobile app. By using either, you agree to these terms.
Aviation safety notice. HeliBuddy is a reference tool — it is not certified avionics software and does not replace current Pilot's Operating Handbooks, official preflight weather briefings, or pilot-in-command judgment. Always verify calculated outputs with authoritative sources before flight.
1. Acceptance
By accessing this website or using the HeliBuddy app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use HeliBuddy. The app is designed for use by student pilots, certificated pilots, and certified flight instructors operating Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters under applicable aviation regulations.
3. Reference use only
All calculations, decoded weather, checklists, and reference data provided by HeliBuddy are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute:
- A legal preflight weather briefing
- An official weight-and-balance certification
- A substitute for the current, aircraft-specific Pilot's Operating Handbook
- Certified avionics or navigation software
- Aviation legal advice of any kind
The pilot-in-command is solely responsible for all preflight decisions and airworthiness determinations. HeliBuddy does not replace that responsibility.
4. Checklist data
Checklists included in the app are derived from Robinson Helicopter Company POH procedures and are provided as reference only. They must not be used as the sole authority for any airworthiness or operational decision. Always use the current, approved POH for the specific aircraft you are operating.
5. No warranty
HeliBuddy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data
- Fitness for a particular purpose (including flight operations)
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Weather data is fetched from third-party sources (aviationweather.gov). We do not warrant its accuracy or availability.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PeachyMedia and HeliBuddy shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or reliance on the app or website — including any damages arising from flight operations or decisions made using HeliBuddy data.
7. Your conduct
You agree not to:
- Use HeliBuddy in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app or its content
8. Intellectual property
All content, design, code, and branding on this website and in the HeliBuddy app are owned by PeachyMedia unless otherwise noted. POH-derived data is used under reference doctrine and remains the property of Robinson Helicopter Company.
9. Third-party services
HeliBuddy fetches weather data from aviationweather.gov, a public FAA service. Airport data is sourced from OurAirports (public domain). We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content of these third-party sources.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Santa Clara County, California.
